Day 11
Since this week’s Pagan Prompt had a theme that I felt ties in with Samhain, that will be my activity for today.
Many pagan societies buried their dead with grave goods – objects of importance to the deceased or objects that would be helpful to the deceased which could be symbolically transferred to the deceased in the afterlife.
For the sake of this prompt assume that you agree with the idea of grave goods and believe in some sort of afterlife in another realm of existence even if you do not.
What things would you want to take with you to the next life and why?
Hum, what would I take with me and why? First, I would like to take my jewelry that I am NEVER without – my piece of Labradorite from Grandma’s village in Newfoundland, my Pentacle, and the ring my Father gave me the last time I saw him before he died.
I really suppose that would be it. I really love my books and Witchy tools, and all the other little treasures in my room, but I would want the next generation to have them and use them, and cherish them.

OBP Day 7
With deep regret, the City of Baltimore announces the untimely and sudden death of Mr. Edgar A. Poe, Esq., the distinguished American poet formerly of this city, on Wednesday, October 7, 1849. Mr. Poe has been ill and was under the care of Dr. John Moran of the Washington Medical College on Broadway. The cause of death has not been posted and we expect Dr. Moran will make a public statement when appropriate. Funeral arrangements will be carried out by the City of Baltimore at the behest of the grieving family. Details will be announced as they are received. We ask that you keep Mr. Poe in your prayers and mourn the passing of one of America’s greatest literary figures. Peace to his manes.
200 years gone, and still a household name. Ur doin’ it right. Tonight, I lift my glass to you, Poe, and thank you for all of the delicious shivers and romantic sighs you’ve inspired in us.
